Yelan and Kuki Shinobu are the two newest playable characters to arrive in the Genshin Impact 2.7 update.
Yelan
Yelan is a five-star Hydro user equipped with a bow. Her banner, Discerner of Enigmas, was released alongside the most recent patch on May 30. It will continue running until June 20, when the second phase of the 2.7 patch is scheduled to be released.
Yelan has strong DPS potential, but she will likely be more useful when she is off the field. This is because of her Elemental Burst ability, Depth-Clarion Dice.
Yelan’s burst creates floating spectral dice that will remain on the field and deal hydro damage in addition to the battling character’s normal attack.
This ability can see heavy utility if paired with a strong main DPS, such as Xiao, an Anemo polearm user. As his element is Anemo, you can create a powerful Swirl attack when combined with Yelan’s Hydro Elemental Burst.
If you manage to obtain her second constellation it will grant an upgraded version of her Elemental Burst, allowing you to deal even more damage.
Xiao, one of the best DPS characters currently in the game, will be appearing with Yelan on a double banner, meaning that for a limited time, players have a chance to pull both limited five-star characters in the same banner cycle!
Kuki Shinobu
Kuki will receive a significant drop-rate boost during 2.7. After Version 2.7, she will be obtainable as an off-rate 4-star character in future banners.
Since Kuki is only a four-star character, she will not get her own banner. Instead, she will appear during Oni’s Royale alongside Arataki Itto, a 5-Star Geo Claymore character with high DPS and critical damage abilities, in the second phase of version 2.7. This banner is expected to run until the release of Genshin Impact 2.8 on July 13, 2022.
With skills like Heart’s Repose (Elemental Skills, healing, and damage will be boosted based on Elemental Mastery) and Break Free (Healing Bonus is increased when HP is low), you’ll find the maximum value out of this character in a Healer/Sub-DPS role.
Upcoming Characters in Version 2.8
Heizou
On May 16, 2022, Heizou, the Analytical Harmony Detective of the Tenryou Commission
was officially announced via the Genshin Impact Twitter account.
Detailed leaks regarding his abilities and information can be found on Honey Hunter, however, some of this information is likely to differ from the officially released Heizou, who is speculated to debut during Genshin Impact Version 2.8.
